About me
I like to focus on creative design thinking but never at the expense of pragmatic solutions. I have experience designing complex assemblies through a range of processes, and am a specialist in 2D & 3D CAD including rendering & surface modelling. I’m also experienced in creating technical documentation including product manuals, project sales tenders, fabrication drawings & BOMs and have marketing experience too. I am an avid outdoorsperson; I run, cycle, camp & climb and like to design my own gear. I bring a holistic understanding to my work, which makes me respectful and grateful towards my colleagues and teams, while my personal passion for the industry drives me with unparalleled determination.

Product Design Engineer
iamodd.
2024 — Present
My freelance work as a Product Design Engineer, focused predominantly in the camper van industry. I have conducted NPD, reverse engineered products and created documentation for a growing selection of camper van components. This has resulted in cost savings and an extended product range for the client with better margins.
Product Designer
West Country Concrete Products
2025 — 2026
The department had no set standards or practises, so I built templates, a new product catalogue & library of CAD and marketing assets. This helped deliver a consistent format of work for customers.
When asked to create a new product catalogue, I taught myself Blender, saving WCCP £20k in photography & preventing diverted and lost resources.
Bartender
The Falcon Hotel
2024 — 2025
I developed my ability to work under pressure, and to juggle multiple tasks at once. I exercised my communication skills with staff and customers & I am particularly proud of the positive morale I managed to elicit in colleagues.
Marketing Executive
WOLF Eyewear
2023 — 2024
WOLF had stuck with the same low-quality consumer photos as their marketing for years, with almost no effect. I developed a range of marketing and social media assets including stories, creating and editing product photos, short form videos and email marketing assets.
I researched competitors, products, sales and customers to better understand the market.
I fostered relationships with remote teams to improve comms and stakeholders demands.
I created the strategy and digital content that lead to a widespread increase in social metrics and great feedback from clients about the improved quality.
Hiking Instructor
IMHiking
2022 — 2024 (Part time)
I began experimenting with challenge hikes and fastpacking. This led me to set up my own guided hiking business, IM Hiking (imhiking.com). This taught me about small business; Networking, additional qualifications like Outdoor First Aid, basic finances & social content creation
Design Engineer
Zoeftig
2021 — 2023
Zoeftigs old assembly manuals were unclear and lacked formatting continuity so I created a range of technical content that modernised and unified operating & assembly manuals, including Hi-res renders, product photos and diagrams. This was well received internally and externally.
When attempting to close a deal, a sales manager approached me and asked for a sales tender. I collaborated with our graphic designer to develop aesthetic technical project bids, creating renders, the general document layout and information, resulting in the successful tender of over £1.5m of projects.
I took artistic models & ideas, and redesigned them into parts & assemblies for manufacture.
Mechanical Design Engineer & Project Engineer
TAIT
2015 — 2016 & 2017 — 2020
I was requested as the specialist CAD handler for the Project Management department and to act as a liaison between Project, Engineering, Logistics and Workshop departments. I helped ease communications between these teams.
I devised efficient methods of drafting & modelling, in part by programming macros. I was able to model almost twice as fast as more experienced engineers.
I designed a large selection of componentry and products (including NPD, DFM, FEA) One memorable highlight was creating the Over Center Actuator, a mechanism that “caught” a 70 tone bridge in its upright position. I enjoyed the incorporation of mechatronic components like motors and gearboxes into designs.
